Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 7 from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. at the Dominican Hospital Rehabilitation Campus (610 Frederick Street in Santa Cruz), patients will demonstrate Dominican’s two wearable robotic exoskeleton bionic walkers, and experts will address questions about the advanced technology.
Inspired by similar technology used in the military, the EksoGT™ robotic exoskeleton helps patients learn to walk again more efficiently. Dominican is the first and only hospital in the Monterey Bay area to offer this technology, which is FDA-approved for stroke and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. The walkers were funded entirely through private community donations to the Dominican Hospital Foundation.
